Men’s Golf Finishes First Round of John Burns Intercollegiate, Looks to Day Two

LIHU, KAUA'I-Hawaii- The first round of the spring season for UNC Men's Golf is officially in the books. The team currently sits in 18th place after the first of three days competing in the John Burns Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Hawai'i on Thursday.
After the first round of golf, five Bears sit in the top 100 so far. Senior Jack Castiglia and junior Blake Danni finished in the highest spots out of their fellow teammates, both sitting in the T52 after shooting 2-over. Castiglia posted a pair of eagles on his scorecard in the opening round.
Also, Dino Degotardi currently sits in the T81, shooting 4-over. Rounding out UNC's representation in the T100, are TJ Shehee and Westin Pals both shooting 9-over.
As a team, Northern Colorado is currently in 18th place with a total of 305 for 17-over to conclude the first day of the tournament.
What's Ahead
The Bears will now focus on steadily moving up in the standings as they compete in the second round of the tournament on Friday before its completion on Saturday. Live scoring can be found at golfstat.com.
