Bears look to stay undefeated at home with Omaha arriving on Friday

GREELEY, Colo.—Riding a three-game winning streak, the Northern Colorado women's basketball team returns to the court after a two-week break to host the University of Nebraska Omaha on Friday, Dec. 16. Opening jump against the Mavericks is set for 6 p.m. (MT) inside the Bank of Colorado arena.
TICKETS
Tickets for all regular-season basketball matches are available via the UNC Athletics app, online at UNCBears.com/tickets or by calling (970) 351-4849. Tickets can also be purchased in person by visiting the Ticket Office in Campus Commons from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
TEDDY BEAR TOSS
UNC Athletics is presenting its annual teddy bear toss game this Friday against Omaha. With all proceeds going to underserved families in the Northern Colorado community, fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or stuffed animal to toss at halftime. In addition, UNC Athletics will have teddy bears available at the game for a small donation.
ABOUT OMAHA (5-5, 0-0 SUMMIT)
The Mavericks open the week with a 5-5 record but have struggled away from their home court this season with a 1-4 record while playing on the road. UNC will be Omaha's second Big Sky opponent this season as the Mavericks defeated Weber State, 91-73 in Omaha on Nov. 16.
LAST TIME OUT
UNC defeated South Dakota, an 'Sweet 16' team a year ago, 72-65, on Dec. 2. The Bears jumped out to a 22-15 lead after the first quarter before holding on for the seven-point win. Delaynie Byrne led UNC with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Hannah Simental went 10-for-10 at the free throw line as part of her 19-point performance.
BIG SKY LEADER
A preseason All-Big Sky pick, junior Hannah Simental is currently No. 2 in the conference with 18.4 points per game. Simental has scored at least 10 points in all eight games this season and has a season-high of 29 against NDSU on Nov. 22. Simental leads the Big Sky in 3-point shooting (50.0, 25-of-50) and free throw percentage (95.2, 40-of-42)
DOUBLE-DOUBLES
One of three players to rank inside the Big Sky's top 10 in both scoring and rebounding, UNC's Delaynie Byrne is currently the Big Sky's No. 6 leading scorer at 15.6 points per game and No. 4 in the league with 8.1 rebounds per contest. Byrne has tallied three 'double-doubles' so far this season.

The Bears hold a perfect 4-0 record so far this season while playing at home. The Bears are averaging 83.0 points per game inside the Bank of Colorado Arena
