UNC Volleyball heading to San Diego for Opening Round of NCAA Tournament

GREELEY, Colo.—Making their seventh appearance at the NCAA DI Volleyball Tournament, Northern Colorado will face No. 2-seeded University of San Diego in the Opening Round of play.
Riding a 14-match winning streak that included a successful run in the Big Sky Championships, Northern Colorado (22-8) will face the West Coast Conference champions on Thursday, Dec. 1. Opening serve against the Toreros is set for 8:30 p.m.
Also in the San Diego bracket will be UNLV and No. 7-seeded Washington State.
The NCAA Tournament appearance will be the seventh for Northern Colorado since 2009. The Bears earned the invite after stopping Portland State, 3-2, in the Big Sky Championship on Saturday,
San Diego (27-1), ranked No. 2 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, will be making its 26th appearance at the NCAA Tournament and will serve as a regional host for the seventh occasion. The Toreros fell to Rice in the opening round last season.
