UNC travels to face Portland State for first trip to Oregon since '18

GREELEY, Colo.—Following a late-season bye week, Northern Colorado will return to action on the road with a matchup at Portland State on Nov. 5. Opening kickoff from Hillsboro Stadium is set for 3 p.m. MT.
TELEVISION: The game will be available to ESPN+ subscribers on ESPN.com and the ESPN app.
RADIO: Live radio coverage of Northern Colorado football games can be found on KFKA 103.1 FM / 1310 AM with Blake Olson (play-by-play) and Aaron Rath (analyst). Coverage will begin an hour before kickoff with the Blue & Gold Pregame Show featuring interviews from Coach Ed McCaffrey and selected players.
ABOUT PSU (3-5, 2-3 BIG SKY): The Vikings broke a two-game skid with a 38-35 win at Eastern Washington last week. PSU held a 35-7 lead the half before hanging on for the win. The Vikings are ranked No. 9 in the Big Sky in total offense (356.3 ypg) and No. 9 in total defense (456.5 ypg). PSU was picked No. 8 in the Big Sky Preseason Poll and No. 9 by the coaches.
LAST TIME VS PSU: It's been over three years since the two conference foes have faced each other as PSU defeated UNC, 38-30, in Greeley on Oct. 19, 2019. The Bears were led by QB Jacob Shipp who threw for 300 yards and two scores. Knipp gained another 128 yards rushing while adding an additional TD from the ground. The Bears have not played Portland State in Oregon since the 2018 season.

BIG SKY ROUNDUP: Not only are there five Big Sky teams in the top 25 in the most recent FCS polls, but three of those teams reside inside the top 10 in the country. Montana State and Sacramento State, lead the way with swapped No. 2/No. 3 rankings. Weber State occupies the No. 5/No. 6 positions while Montana and Idaho also remain in the top 25. As the Big Sky's sixth representative, UC Davis received votes in the Stats FCS Poll.
