Boon honored as Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah—Helping Northern Colorado frustrate two of the top teams in the conference last weekend, senior libero Michaela Boon was selected as the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
While leading Northern Colorado to a 3-1 win over Sacramento State and a 3-0 sweep against top-ranked Portland State, Boon averaged 5.00 digs per set, a rate that would top the Big Sky's single set average this season.
Along the way, UNC held Sacramento State to a .133 hitting percentage and Portland State to a .150 average. Boon averaged 6.00 digs per set in the sweep against PSU to hold the Vikings to its lowest offensive efficiency of the season during conference play.
Boon's award was the fifth for UNC volleyball this season and the first on the defensive side.
