FARMINGTON, Utah- Following the conclusion of the 2021-22 regular season, two Northern Colorado soccer players have been named to the Big Sky All-Conference Honorable Mention team in Melina Faris and Lucy Hart, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Both Faris and Hart have been staples for the team and played an instrumental role in rounding out the Bears' offensive and defensive efforts all season.

Junior forward Melina Faris had a strong season for UNC, delivering when it mattered most. The Pueblo, Colorado native finished with three goals this season, contributing in a dominate 5-0 victory over North Dakota State. She also served up the equalizer to tie Eastern Washington, 1-1, on a rainy night at Jackson Stadium last month. Starting in 16 of the team's matches this season, Faris also tabbed two assists, including on the game winner over Omaha.

Colorado Springs native Lucy Hart lands back-to-back honorable mention selections due to her ability to consistently outwork her opponents on both ends of the pitch. Not only was Hart a critical piece of the Bears' defense this season, but also recorded two goals in resounding victories over North Dakota and North Dakota State. Her offensive contributions did not stop there, also providing two assists, including one in the win over Wyoming to help her team run it back and become Front Range Derby Champions for the second year in a row. The sophomore defender was a solid presence for UNC, starting all 18 games this season and playing all 90 minutes in eight of them.
