Bears overwhelm Wyoming in home dual

GREELEY, Colo.—Nearly doubling up their neighbors to the north, the University of Northern Colorado swimming & diving team defeated the University of Wyoming 197-103 in the team's second dual of the season.
Northern Colorado (2-0) won 14 of the 16 events, including 1-2 finishes in the 50 free, the 200 fly, and the 1-meter dive. The win was the second straight for UNC over the Cowboys and now hold a 2-3 record in the series since 2017.
Four Bears posted a pair of individual wins: Ali Jackson (50 free & 100 free), Anna Austin (500 free & 1,000 free), Payten Irwin (100 fly & 200 fly), and Maria Erokhina (100 breast & 200 breast). In addition, UNC swept the two relay events and the two diving events.
Nadine Coulie and Madison Berg went 1-2 in the 1-meter dive with Coulie scoring a season-best 260.93. Berg came back to win the 3-meter dive with a season-best 237.60.
In all, the Bears posted 20 different season-best marks on the day.
Northern Colorado will have a quick turnaround as it will host Utah Tech on Friday, Oct. 21. Action will get underway at 5 p.m. at the Butler Hancock Pool.
