Northern Colorado standout recognized for academic and athletic excellence
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado swimming and diving student-athlete Ellyson Lombardi has been named to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the 2024-25 season, the organization announced this week.
Lombardi earned Second-Team Scholar All-America honors after excelling in the classroom and the pool. To qualify for the prestigious distinction, student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieve either a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualify for a diving zone championship meet.
A Biology major, Lombardi represents the commitment to academic excellence seen across Northern Colorado Athletics. She is among the nearly 2,700 swimmers and divers nationwide recognized by the CSCAA this season. Notably, nearly 48 percent of honorees pursued STEM-related fields, underscoring the balance of rigorous academics with elite-level competition.
The CSCAA Scholar All-America program, one of the most prestigious academic awards in collegiate swimming and diving, celebrates student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding achievement both in the classroom and in their sport.
