Bears cap week with another home win

GREELEY, Colo.—Victorious in nine of the 14 events, the Northern Colorado swimming & diving team continued its perfect start to its dual season with a 156-106 win over Utah Tech on Friday.
One day after posting a dominating win over Wyoming, the Bears upped their season record to 3-0 with a commanding win against the Trail Blazers.Saana Liikonen was a part of four meet wins on the night including leading a 1-2-3 sweep in the 50 free with Ali Jackson and Sarah Jackson completing the successful trio. Liikoken and Ali Jackson returned with the top two results in the 100 free.
More UNC combo wins came from Payten Irwin in the 100 fly (58.01) and the 200 fly (2:07.44) and Maria Erokhina in the 100 breast (1:04.99) and the 200 breast (2:25.19).
Anna Austin captured the team's other individual win with a season-best 1:54.87 in the 200 free. Close behind, Ali Jackson gave UNC another 1-2 finish with a season-best time of 1:56.95.
Touching the pad in 1:45.46, the Bears opened the dual with a closed out the dual with a season best in the 200 medley relay while it closed the competition with a 1-2 finish in the 400 freestyle relay.
UNC will hit the road next week with duals at the University of Idaho on Oct. 28 and at Washington State on Oct. 29.
