UNC Dominates Collegiate 2.4-Mile at Horsetooth Open Water Swim

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Northern Colorado women's swimmers turned in a commanding performance at the Collegiate 2.4-Mile Swim, placing eight in the top 10 and 20 in the top 30 overall finishers.
Leading the way for the Bears was Kyra Rabess, who clocked a winning time of 48:39, finishing more than 25 seconds ahead of the field. Teammates Audrey Varet (49:07) and Emma On-The-Hill (49:59) joined Rabess in the top three, securing a clean sweep for UNC on the podium.
Rounding out the Bears' impressive front pack were Hlaa Diab and Lora Konter, who tied for fourth overall at 50:06. By the midpoint of the race, UNC had already established firm control, with six of the top eight finishers in blue and gold.
Colorado Mines and Colorado State made their marks deeper in the standings. Julie Gill of Mines was the first non-UNC finisher, placing ninth in 52:17, while CSU's Maddi Geyer followed closely in 10th (52:18) to lead the Rams.
In total, UNC placed 29 swimmers inside the top 50.
The Bears will officially begin the 2025-26 season at the Front Range Invitational on October 3.
