Tale of Two Halves for Men's Basketball Thursday

UNC men's basketball dropped it's game to Weber State 85-76
GREELEY, Colo. – It was a tale of two halves for Northern Colorado men's basketball Thursday night. The Bears held a 10-point lead at the break, but Weber State shot 60.7% compared to UNC's 36.0% to come away with the 85-76 win.
In a matchup featuring the top two teams in the Big Sky, it was Northern Colorado who landed the first punch. The Bears used an 11-0 run sparked by Dru Kuxhausen to give the team a six-point advantage. He scored 10 of the 11 points in the run including a four-point play.
Kuxhausen was one of two Bears to record 20 points in the box score with an even 20, while Daylen Kountz led the team with 22.
Bodie Hume caught fire later in the half helping grow the lead to 10 points after 20 minutes of play.
The second half was a different story. Weber State opened the second 20-minute stanza with a 9-0 run. They then went on a 17-0 run to take control of the game with 5:39 remaining. The Bears continued to fight but were unable to close the large deficit.

- Bodie Hume became a top 10 scorer in program history on Alumni Night. The senior passed John McFarland to crack the top 10. Hume is now in ninth place with 1,336 points, one behind former teammate Jonah Radebaugh.
- Daylen Kountz recorded his third 20-point game in the last four with a team-leading 22. He has 11, 20-point games this season.
- Dru Kuxhausen had a strong game with 20 points, six rebounds and three assists.

The Montana schools defended their home courts defeating Idaho and Eastern Washington Thursday night. Both hold a two-win advantage over the Bears in the Big Sky standings but are tied in the loss column and UNC defeated both at home in December.
