Men's Golf Starts 2021-22 Season with a Top 10 Finish

UNC men's golf finished ninth at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Northern Colorado men's golf finished its first tournament of the year with a top 10 finish at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite. The Bears shot two straight 4-over, 292s on Saturday and Sunday to earn a ninth-place spot.
Jack Castiglia had the best individual finish for the Bears tied for 14th with a 2-under, 214. His best round of the tournament came on Saturday when he placed a 3-under, 69 on the board. That pushed him into the top 20. Over the final two rounds, Castiglia made seven birdies and an eagle.
Three other Bears finished in the top 50 in Westin Pals, TJ Shehee and Marcus Tait. Pals finished tied for 33rd with Shehee and Tait tied for 41st. Pals shot an even-par 72 on Saturday and followed it up with his second 74 of the week on Sunday. Tait finished the weekend strong with a closing round 1-under, 71.
TJ Shehee tied for the fourth most birdies by anyone in the tournament with 16 over the 54-holes.
