Davis named Big Sky MVP

FARMINGTON, Utah – In a season that has been full of uncertainty, the one constant for Northern Colorado Women's Basketball has been Alisha Davis. No player has been better in the Big Sky and Saturday afternoon the conference made it official, naming the sophomore Big Sky MVP.
As the only player to average a double-double throughout the 2020-21 campaign, Davis led the conference in both scoring (17.1 ppg) and rebounds per game (10.1).
To date, Davis ranks first in the conference in blocked shots (53), double-doubles (13), field goals made (149), final points (393), free-throw attempts (140), points per game (17.1), rebounds (232) and rebounds per game (10.1). She also ranks 21st, 11th, 54th, 62nd, 25th, 96th, 21st and 41st in each of those categories nationally.
Including this past week, Davis was a three-time winner of the conference Player of the Week award and picked up College Sports Madness' Mid-Major Player of the Week with her performance against Eastern Washington.
Last season During an impressive freshman campaign, Davis led the conference in shooting percentage at 53.0 percent as she landed on the All-Conference Honorable Mention list.
Northern Colorado heads to Boise, Idaho as the fourth-seed in the Big Sky Tournament, awaiting a matchup against Southern Utah on Tuesday, March 9. The game is slated for 2 p.m. MT.
