Friday starter Dylan Bowers recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts against the Jackrabbits.
Reliever Iain Isdale continues to impress early in his freshmen season. The Parker, Colorado native pitched two shutout innings against SDSU. The righty has only given up one earned run in his two appearances thus far.
The Bears' sure-handed catcher Josh Glenn was a staple behind the plate last weekend. Not only does Glenn lead UNC in batting average (.476), he also sniped a season-high two runners trying to steal in game two of Saturday's doubleheader versus South Dakota State.
For the second consecutive week, Northern Colorado will get a preview of a future Summit League opponent with North Dakota State in town.
Josh Torpey, Dylan Day, Eric Ma and Shane Hoodman all made their debuts on the mound last weekend.
The Bears' team batting average of .293 leads the Western Athletic Conference through two weekends of baseball.
Oral Roberts transfer Jacob Salim has yet to give up an earned run in two starts as a Bear.
In his first two plate appearances in the Blue and Gold, Jacob Banister was hit by a pitch and walked, coming around to score once.
Head coach Carl Iwasaki remains just three wins away from 200 career victories at Northern Colorado. It would make him the fourth coach to do so at UNC.
