Baseball earns split with UVU thanks to Bowers' career day

GREELEY, Colo. – A career-best 12 strikeouts from Dylan Bowers helped Northern Colorado splits its doubleheader with Utah Valley, cruising by the Wolverines 8-1 in the first game of the day before dropping the second contest, 7-3.
At this point in the season, if a runner gets into scoring position and Josh Glenn is at the plate, fans should just mark the RBI down in pen.
Wasting no time in Saturday's opening contest of the doubleheader, Glenn secured his 25th RBI of the season with a double to left field.
A near-identical situation reappeared two innings later in the third frame. Although it might sound like a broken record to hear Glenn grabbed yet another RBI-double, it's a record the Bears don't mind listening to as UNC claimed a two-run advantage.B1 | All hail the RBI King @joshglenn28 👑👑👑

With the human buzz saw known as Dylan Bowers on the mound, Northern Colorado didn't need much run support in the early afternoon.
UNC broke the game open in the fourth with none other than Josh Glenn. A two-RBI single this time from Glenn was followed by Matt Burkart's seventh home run of the season to make it a 6-0 ballgame.T2 | Just @yahboydylan doing Dylan Bowers things.

Dylan Bower's only blemish came in the top of the sixth. A solo shot riding the wind drifted over the right-field wall.
The big right-hander pitched a seven-inning complete game and struck out a career-high 12 batters.
Northern Colorado played from behind for the first time in the series in the second game of the afternoon.
One run on two hits in the third frame gave Utah Valley the early advantage and then the Wolverines added five more an inning later to take control of the game.
The Bears jumped on the board after Josh Glenn tripled and Matt Burkart brought him around to score on an RBI-single.
Rally caps at the ready, UNC threatened heroics in the ninth, scoring two runs on a Ben McKay single and then promptly loading the bases. The rally would come to a halt, however, as UVU struck out the final Bear batter to earn its first win of the series, 7-3.
