Trio of Wrestlers ready for NCAA Championships

Mosha Schwartz, Jackson Hemauer, and Alan Clothier represent UNC at the NCAA Championships
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Northern Colorado wrestling steps under the bright lights of the Gateway Arch starting Thursday morning as the NCAA Wrestling Championships get underway. Mosha Schwartz, Jackson Hemauer and Alan Clothier will represent the Bears this weekend.
All three are returners to the NCAA Championships, Schwartz and Clothier qualified last year while Hemauer participated in the 2019 Championships for Fresno State.
The trio qualified for this weekend's championships by their performance at the Big 12 Championships two weeks ago. Hemauer entered at the No. 6 seed and advanced to the finals of the 174-pound bracket. He upset the No. 2 and No. 3 seed on his way to the title match.
Schwartz and Clothier each took fourth place at the Big 12 Championships. Schwartz for the 133-pound and Clothier for 184-pound.
Hemauer, earned the highest seed of all the Bears this week at No. 13. He will face Trenton Munoz of Arizona in the first round.
Schwartz and Clothier are the No. 15 and 18 seeds in the NCAA Championship, respectively. Schwartz drew Kyle Burwick of Wisconsin for his first-round match. Meanwhile, Clothier faces Layne Malczewski of Michigan State.
The action begins Thursday at 9 a.m. with the first round. The tournament will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.
