Volleyball completes perfect weekend against Sacramento State

GREELEY, Colo – Two matches, six sets.
Northern Colorado Volleyball capped off a nearly perfect weekend with its second straight sweep over Sacramento State, 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-18).
In almost a mirror image to Sunday's matchup, the Bears serve and serve-receive set the tone early and often, allowing UNC to control the match from start to finish.

Lyndsey Oates' squad scampered out to a 16-4 run in the opening set before the Hornets called timeout.
Four of Northern Colorado's 10 aces came in the first set, two of them from the Bears' libero Kyndall Feather.

Defensively, between Feather and defensive specialist Michaela Boon, the two were targeted 16 times on serve with neither one committing an error. Feather also finished with a game-high 11 digs.
The second set was the Taylor Muff show. The senior outside hitter racked up a game-high 12 kills and walked away with three aces.
Her second ace of the match gave her 100 total in her career, just the third player in program history to reach the century mark in aces.

Makenzie Harris and Rachel Hickman split duties on the left side on Monday evening. Both hit north of .600 as Hickman collected three kills while Harris Finished with a season-high of five.

Though UNC only hit .182 in the final set, it boasted a side out percentage of 73%, allowing the Bears to cruise to its second straight sweep of the Hornets.

GAME NOTES
- Taylor Muff reached 100 career aces, the third UNC player to reach that mark.
- Daisy Schultz tallied her third double-double of the season with 24 assists and 10 digs.
- Makenzie Harris finished with a season-high five kills, starting two sets.
- UNC held Sacramento State to .024 hitting on the evening, the lowest total of the season for the Bears defense.
- The Hornets came into the match as the best serving team in the conference. Northern Colorado surrendered just one ace Monday evening.

The Bears head to the northwest with two matches versus Portland State awaiting next Sunday and Monday. Both are slated for 2 p.m. MT.
