Men's golf goes low Sunday at Pat Hicks Invite

Northern Colorado men's golf shot a 7-under, 281 on Sunday
ST. GEORGE, Utah – Northern Colorado men's golf was seeing a lot of red on Sunday. No, they were not watching the pregame shows of the Big Game, they were posting birdie after birdie on their scorecard at the Pat Hicks Invite. UNC posted a 7-under 281 on the day to move into seventh place going into the final round.
Three Bears shot below par for the round, while the other three shot a 1-over, 73. Sophomore TJ Shehee led UNC with a 5-under 67. It is the best round of his collegiate career. He sits at 2-under for the tournament which puts him in a tie for 16th.
One of the other players tied with Shehee for 16th is teammate Jack Castiglia. He shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday to follow up his opening round 72 Saturday. Castiglia had five birdies on his round.
The other Bear to shoot under par for the day was Blake Danni. Danni shot a 1-under, 71 on the day, and sits at 1-over, 145 for the tournament. Danni had a stretch of four birdies over a five hole stretch during his round.
Northern Colorado's 7-under 281 tied for the second-best round by a team on Sunday. Only Utah State had a better day with a 12-under 276.
Prenzlow's Perspective
Today looked more like a Bear Golf Team! They played with much more poise and patience! TJ was excellent all day and the rest of them competed just like how we talk about it in practice. Tomorrow we just need to come out with the same patience and see if we can make more putts! This team is going to just keep getting better and better!
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado looks to keep the momentum rolling into Monday for the final round of the Pat Hicks Invite. The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 am. Live results of the round can be found on GolfStat.com.
