Opening Tip
Northern Colorado carries a two-game win streak into its matchup with Portland State. It's the third time this season the Bears have won two or more games in a row.
Alisha Davis is back doing Alisha Davis things. In her last outing against Sacramento State, the sophomore poured in a season-high 25 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
UNC currently leads the Big Sky Conference in three-point percentage, shooting 37.6 percent from downtown.
The Bears' bench has come up huge lately, combining for at least 10 points in four consecutive games.
Getting off to a hot start against the Vikings will be crucial. Eight of UNC's nine wins have come when leading after the first 10 minutes and coach Huth is 31-13 all-time when her teams get off to a hot start.
Scouting the Vikings
Sixth-year head coach Lynn Kennedy had his team pegged sixth and seventh in the preseason media and coaches polls, respectively. Though they lost two against Idaho, the Vikings boast two impressive wins over Northern Arizona and split games with both Montana and Montana State.
Junior guard Desirae Hansen leads the team with 12.5 points per contest while senior Kylie Jimenez ranks third in the conference in assists with 4.3 per game.
History against Portland State
UNC won each of its two matchups with PSU a year ago. All-time the Bears are 16-10 versus Portland State but two wins in Viking Pavilion this weekend would put the two programs back to an even 7-7 in Portland.
Against the Conference
The Bears are 8-7 thus far in Big Sky Conference play. Since joining the conference, UNC has 166 wins to just 129 losses.
On This Date
On February, 25 & 27, UNC is a combined 10-10. Notably, on February 27 in 2016, the Bears dialed up a 70-59 win over Portland State in Portland.
What's Ahead?.
Northern Colorado returns next week for its last home series against Weber State. Saturday, March 5, will also mark Senior Day.
