Football Closes Season at Weber State Saturday

Northern Colorado Football travels to Ogden, Utah to conclude the 2021 season
Northern Colorado (3-7, 2-5 Big Sky) at Weber State (5-5, 4-3 Big Sky)

The Game
Coming off a bye Northern Colorado looks to finish the 2021 season strong with a trip to Weber State. The Wildcats enter Saturday's season finale flying high off a 62-0 win over Southern Utah a week ago.Â
Numbers to Know
2.1 -Â David Hoage is leading the Big Sky and third in the nation with 2.1 tackles for a loss a game.
1.05 -Â Hoage also ranks second in the conference and ninth in the NCAA for sacks.Â
1.3 -Â Northern Colorado leads the Big Sky and ranks 21st in the nation allowing just 1.30 sacks a game.Â
17 -Â 17 seniors will suit up in the Blue & Gold for one last time Saturday.
Scouting the Wildcats
•  Weber State enters Saturday with plenty of confidence after defeating Southern Utah 62-0 last week.
• The Wildcats have not won at home in 2021.Â
• WSU has arguably the best kick returner in the FCS in Rashid Shaheed. He is averaging 28.4 yards  per return and has two kickoffs for a touchdown. Shaheed also leads the team in receiving with 37 catches for 679 yards and four scores.Â
• Defense has become Weber States calling card and they are once again near the top of the Big Sky in it. They rank second in rushing yards a game at 116.4 and total defense at 284.7.Â
Around the Big Sky
Two teams enter the final weekend of the regular season undefeated in Big Sky play in Sacramento State and Montana State. Both teams are on the road in top 25 matchups with Sacramento State traveling to UC Davis and Montana State to Montana.
What's Ahead
It's on to the 2022 season. Northern Colorado opens 2022 at Nottingham Field on September 3 against Houston Baptist.
