Lerouider Resets Program Record at Big Sky Championships

Melodie Leroudier reset her 5k record on Friday
PORTLAND, Ore. – Melodie Lerouider reset a record she broke earlier this year with her run at the Big Sky Championships on Friday. The junior crossed the line in the 5K in 17:08.8. shaving eight seconds off her previous record. She finished 16th overall in the 5K race.
Leroudier's run helped UNC finish ninth on the women's side. Claudine Blancaflor had the second-best time for UNC at 18:19.1 followed by Shantell Hafner and Chloe Rylance.
On the men's side, Logan Cole led the way with a time of 26:11.4 in the 8K. Timothy Chambers and Jesse Hayward finished right behind each other with times of 26:32.3 and 26:32.4, respectively. The men placed 11th as a team.

Next up in the championship season for UNC Cross Country is the NCAA Mountain Regionals on November 13 in Provo, Utah.
