Bears, Mountaineers to tangle on the mat Sunday

No. 17 UNC wrestling faces West Virginia on Sunday morning
GREELEY, Colo. – No. 17 Northern Colorado wrestling returns to the mat on Sunday for a Big 12 dual against West Virginia. The dual begins at 10 am MT and will air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
The Bears have seen their last three scheduled duals canceled due to COVID-19 protocols, but are ready to get back into competition after a two-week break.
Scouting the Bears
UNC has eight wrestlers in the individual rankings across the nation. Sophomores Mosha Schwartz (133) and Andrew Alirez (149) have the highest rankings on the team both at No. 7 on TrackWrestling and Intermat. The two are a combined 6-0 on the year.
Alan Clothier (184), Jacob Seely (197) and Dalton Robertson (HWT) are ranked inside the top 20. Clothier is 19th on Trackwrestling, Seely and Robertson come in at No. 16 and 15, respectively in FloWrestling's rankings. The last time Clothier was on the mat, he won with a pair of major decisions over Utah Valley and California Baptist.
Three other Bears are ranked in Theorius Robison (125), No. 20 by FloWrestling, Chris Sandoval (133), No. 30 by TrackWrestling and Jackson Hemauer (174) No. 23 by FloWrestling. Hemauer made his Blue & Gold debut two weeks again at the Air Force Individuals where he went 2-0.
Scouting the Mountaineers
West Virginia enters Sunday's dual 4-2 on the year and 0-1 in Big 12 duals. The Mountaineers eked out an 18-15 win over Cleveland State last weekend.
WVU has three wrestlers ranked in the national rankings in Noah Adams (197), Peyton Hall (165) and Killian Cardinale (125).
Adams is the top-ranked 197-pound wrestler in the nation according to FloWrestling, Intermat and The Open Mat. He is 6-0 on the year and currently on a 38-match win streak.
Hall ranks No. 24 by FloWrestlings. He is 5-1 on the year with a pair of major decision wins.
Cardinale ranks No. 24 according to The Open Mat with a 3-3 record.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado hosts a quad-dual inside Bank of Colorado Arena next Saturday with Air Force, Fresno State and West Virginia. The Bears will face Air Force at 6:30 pm and Fresno State at 8:00 pm. Both duals will be streamed on FloWrestling.
