Volleyball Returns to the Court for Spring Schedule

Northern Colorado will have four competitions between March and April
GREELEY – Northern Colorado volleyball is back in action this spring and fans will have several chances to watch the 2019 Big Sky Champions.
The Bears' spring slate will begin on Saturday, March 28th in Omaha, Neb., with 12+ teams competing from all levels. UNC will face Division I competition, including Kansas State, Creighton and Iowa State in the tournament hosted by River City Volleyball Club.
The first match will begin at 10 a.m. and the final match will take place at 3 p.m. in the TVA Facility.
UNC will host its home tournament on Saturday April 4th, with the Bears splitting into two separate teams. A total of 10 teams will participate in the tournament and matches begin at 9 a.m., with the final match starting at 4 p.m.
On Friday, April 24th, UNC will host Colorado for a best-of-five, regular dual scrimmage. Warm-ups for the scrimmage begin at 5:30 p.m.
The Bears will conclude its Spring schedule against Nebraska on the road, Saturday, April 25th. UNC will travel to Grand Island, Neb. to play the Huskers in a best-of-five, dual scrimmage, starting at 6 p.m. The match will take place at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island.
All spring events are open for the public to attend. For both the home tournament and the scrimmage against Colorado, admission is free for fans.
The Omaha, Neb. tournament and the scrimmage against Nebraska will have paid admission.
Northern Colorado will see live-game action this spring for the first time since winning the Big Sky regular season and tournament title this past November. Head coach, Lyndsey Oates, was named Big Sky Coach of the Year after guiding the team to Division I program record, 26 wins and a Big Sky record-tying, 17 conference wins. Setter Daisy Schultz was named Big Sky MVP and outside hitter Kailey Jo Ince earned tournament MVP honors.
