Radebaugh Makes History, Edwards, Hume Earn All-Big Sky Honors

Jonah Radebaugh became the first player in BIg Sky History to win three Defensive Player of the Year Awards
BOISE, Idaho – History was made on Tuesday morning when the Big Sky Conference announced its individual awards and All-Big Sky team for men's basketball. Jonah Radebaugh became the first player in conference history to earn Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year three times. Radebaugh was also a unanimous first All-Big Sky Selection.
The Defensive Player of the Year award was not the only individual honor won by a Bears, Kai Edwards was named the Top Reserve. Sophomore Bodie Hume also made second team All-Big Sky a year after winning the Freshman of the Year honor.
Radebaugh previously won the Defensive Player of the Year honor in 2017 and 2019. Once again, this year he drew the assignment of the opponent's best player game in and game out. He averaged a league-leading 38.4 minutes of play per Big Sky game and not only shut down his opponent, but averaged 16.8 points, 7.4 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Those numbers ranked him eighth, 14th, first and 10th in the conference in the respective categories.
He scored in double figures in every conference game this season including six games with 20-plus points. Radebaugh also recorded 12 games with seven-plus assists and four with double figures. He ranked third in the conference with five double-doubles including twice just missing out on a triple-double.
Kai Edwards took his game to another level during conference play averaging 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds off the bench. He and Radebaugh worked the two-man game to perfection during conference play as Edwards scored in double figures 10 times. He had one double-double in Big Sky play with a 17 point, 12 rebound performance against Idaho in Greeley.
Bodie Hume saw no sophomore slump after claiming the Big Sky Freshman of the Year in 2018-19. The Sterling, Colorado native averaged 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.1 rebounds per game during Big Sky play to earn the second team All-Big Sky honors.
Northern Colorado enters the Big Sky Tournament as the second seed, earning a first round bye. The Bears will play the winner of Southern Utah-Idaho on Thursday, March 12 at 5:30 pm inside Century Link Arena in Boise, Idaho.
