Women’s Tennis Falls to University of Nebraska-Omaha

OMAHA, Neb.- The UNC women's tennis team fought another tough match to close out their weekend in Omaha but were defeated by the University of Nebraska-Omaha with a score of 2-5 on Sunday morning.
In doubles play, UNC was not able to get a win in any of the three matches. In No. 1 doubles, Raffa Mora/Synclair Larson were defeated 3-6 by Absisan/Gallegos. Omaha's Lorentz/Kapelevich also got the win, 1-6, over Milena Belianovich/Madison Wolfe. In the No. 3 doubles spot, Sandra Keta/Sarina Chhabra fell to Crowell/Behling, 4-5.
In singles play, two Bears won their matches in only two sets. In No. 2 singles, Sandra Keta got the win, 6-2 and 6-4, over Madison Gallegos. Madison Wolfe was also victorious over Savanna Crowell in the No. 3 singles spot, with scores of 6-3 and 7-5.
Omaha came out on top in the rest of the singles matches in two sets each with wins in the No.1 spot over Raffa Mora, the No. 4 spot over Sarina Chhabra, the No. 5 spot over Synclair Larson and the No. 6 spot over Natalie Stanton.
"Sandra and Mady played very solid, intense, focused matches all of the way through," said Head Coach Chad Stoloff. "We will learn from this and need to come back stronger for the upcoming matches."
The Bears will be back in Colorado when they go head to head with Oral Roberts University in their next match on Thursday at 7 p.m.
