UNC men's basketball looks to take second place by themselves Monday night

Opening Tip
• A slow start didn't slow down the Bears as they defeated Idaho 74-53.
• Jonah Radebaugh had his third double-double of the year with 12 points and 13 assists.
• Trent Harris stepped into the starting lineup and led the Bears scoring 17 points.
• UNC turned the ball over just four times on Saturday.
• Monday night's game is between the two teams tied for second place in the Big Sky standings.

Last Time Out
The Bears did not score for the first 7:25 of Saturday's contest against Idaho, but still come up with the 74-53 win.

Jonah Radebaugh was the catalyst for the team scoring 12 points and dishing out a career-best 13 assists. Meanwhile Trent Harris made five 3-pointers on his way to 17 points to lead the team.

Scouting the Eagles
Eastern Washington has one of the best offenses in the nation averaging 83.1 points per game to rank third overall. The Eagles scored a Big Sky record 146 points earlier this season against Multnomah.

The coaches pick as the preseason favorite in the Big Sky, EWU has a three-headed scoring monster in Jacob Davison, Mason Peatling and Kim Aiken.

Davison leads the team with 17.5 points per game while Peatling adds in 15.8 and Aiken 14.9.

While the Eagles can score the ball in bunches they also give up a lot of points. Opponents are scoring 75.1 points per game and shooting 42.7 percent against them. In Big Sky play EWU has only made it to 80 points once and that took overtime against Southern Utah.

History against Eastern Washington
As members of the Big Sky conference Northern Colorado and Eastern Washington have split their previous 24 meetings. EWU holds the slight overall lead in the series winning the only other game between the two programs in 1971.

On This Date
Northern Colorado is 6-14 when playing on January 27. Two of the six wins have come when the Bears are on the road.

Three teams in the Big Sky are now tied in the loss column in Northern Colorado, Montana and Eastern Washington. Both UNC and EWU picked up wins on Saturday while UM fell in overtime at Weber State 87-85

UNC continues its four games in eight days stretch returning home on Thursday night to host Idaho State on Thursday night at 7 pm.
