Bears Host Vandals Saturday

Northern Colorado will use the week off to refocus and move up the Big Sky standings
Northern Colorado will enjoy its home court this weekend, as they will play two games, starting with the Vandals on Saturday afternoon.

Northern Colorado went 1-1 on its road trip last weekend, defeating Sacramento State, 73-63, and then falling to Northern Arizona, 72-45. The Bears could not comÂplete the road trip sweep against NAU on Saturday. UNC was held to a 28.3 shooting percentage in the game, while the LumberÂjacks had a 45.6 percentage. The Lumberjacks were in control after the first quarter, leading the Bears 26-10. The scoring slowed down in the second quarter, but NAU continued to pad its lead, outscoring UNC, 15-8 for a 41-18 lead. NAU would go onto win the game, 72-45.

They squeaked by MonÂtana, 52-51, to give the team a three-game winning streak. Gina Marxen is the Vandals leading scorer, averaging 13.5 points per game, while shooting 35.1 percent this season. Lizzy Klinker protects the paint for Idaho, leading the team with 7.2 rebounds per game.

Northern Colorado holds a 7-2 record against the Vandals, going 3-1 in both Greeley and Moscow, with a 1-0 record at neutral sites. In February of 2019, UNC defeated Idaho, 77-72, at Bank of Colorado Arena in the last meeting between the two teams.
