UNC men's basketball enters Thursday's game with a three-game win stream

Opening Tip
• UNC picked up its first-ever win in Ogden last Thursday with a 65-64 win over Weber State.
• Kai Edwards scored the game-winning basket with 3.5 seconds left as a part of a 14 point, eight rebound performance.
• Jonah Radebaugh led the team with 19 points and seven assists against WSU.
• Northern Colorado is the highest rated Big Sky team in the College Insiders Mid-Major Top 25 by having 13 points in the receiving votes category.
• Both the Bears and Hornets enter Thursday's game on a three-game win streak.
• Only one team has broke 70 against Sacramento State this season in Pepperdine.

Last Time Out
Kai Edwards layup with 3.5 seconds left lifted Northern Colorado past Weber State 65-64. The victory in Ogden was the first in program history. Jonah Radebaugh paced the team with 19 points and seven assists while Bodie Hume added in 15 and Edwards 14. Despite shooting only 36.2 percent for the game, UNC controlled the glass with 14 offensive rebounds leading to 14 second chance points.

Scouting the Hornets
Defense is the name of the game for Sacramento State. They lead the Big Sky conference in scoring defense (62.4), opponent field goal percentage (41.9) and 3-point field goal percentage (24.8).

Behind their strong defense the Hornets have gone on to a 10-4 record and 3-2 in the Big Sky.

Joshua Patton is a force on both ends of the court for Sacramento State averaging 14.1 points and 5.4 rebounds along with a Big Sky leading 2.14 blocked shots per game.

History Against Sacramento State
UNC and Sacramento State never met until 2006 when the Bears joined the Big Sky. Since then UNC holds a 17-7 edge in the series and has dominated at home with a 10-2 record.

On This Date
The Bears have played 22 previous times on January 16 with a 12-10 record. Twelve of the 22 games have been played in Greeley with UNC goin 8-4 in them.

Around the Big Sky
The unbalanced schedule has Montana and Montana State each having already played six games while UNC, Southern Utah, Eastern Washington and Idaho have only played four.
