Ince's Career Night Not Enough for Bears Against Cal Poly

Kailey Jo Ince set a career-high with 25 kills against Cal Poly
GREELEY – Kailey Jo Ince set a career-high in kills with 25 on Friday night, but it wasn't quite enough as the Bears fell to Cal Poly in five sets to wrap up the UNC/CSU Homewood Suites Volleyball Classic.
Ince came out of the gates with six kills and a .667 kill percentage in set one. With six overall errors for the Bears in the set was the difference as the Mustangs pulled ahead with their .394 attack percentage to take set one 25-21.
Northern Colorado came back in set two riding the hot arm of Ince with five more kills to win the second 25-12. Lauren Hinrichs with two more kills, Daisy Schultz with 21 overall assists, and as a team seven blocks holding the Mustangs to a 25-12 victory.
Cal Poly's offense was clicking in the third set, hitting .586 to take set three 25-16 over the Bears.
Just like Thursday night, the Bears did not back down trailing 2-1. Continuing to ride the hot hand of Ince they forced a fifth set with a 25-22 set four win. Younger Bear, Makenzie Harris had two kills in the set and seven for the match against the Mustangs helping her team to a close 25-22 victory in set four.
In the fifth set, Cal Poly's offense turned up the heat and hit .533 on the Bears. The Mustangs jumped out to the early 7-2 lead, but UNC cut the lead to 10-7. UNC was unable to cut the deficit any closer as Cal Poly went on to win the set and match.
