UNC found itself down 6-0 before the No. 4 hitter in their lineup had even come to the plate. Thanks in part to that cleanup batter, Sam Leach, the Bears rallied and tied the game headed to the third inning. They grabbed the lead in the following inning but gave it back to Sacramento State in the sixth and were never able to regain the advantage and lost, 15-10.

The second inning was the highlight of the day for the Bears. Leach led off with a solo home run that got UNC on the board. The Matt's, Zoba and Burkart would follow with solo shots that cut the Hornets lead in half. Jack Pauley capped the inning with a three-run home run over the 416 marker in centerfield to tie the game.
Zoba gave the Bears their only lead of the day with an RBI groundout in the third.

After things settled down in the fourth and fifth, SAC State rallied for three in the sixth and scored again in the seventh and ninth to close out the victory.

BREAKING OUT OF THE BOX SCORE

Pauley added a triple to go with his three-run home run.
Burkart added a double to go with his HR and had two RBIs.
Leach tacked on two additional base hits.
Zoba finished with a pair of runs batted in for the second-straight game.
The Hornets have the best-earned run average in the WAC, UNC has piled up 29 hits and 18 runs in the first two games of the series.

MAKING A MOVE FOR MESA
As the regular season hits the home stretch, UNC is in a battle for the final spot in the WAC Tournament. UNC and Seattle are a game behind Utah Valley and Cal State Bakersfield for the final spot.

SCHEDULE SAYS
The Bears will send their ace to the mound on Sunday with a chance to win the series over the Hornets starting at noon.
