Once again, there was a threat of rain for the match on the second stop on the Bears NorCal road trip, but the clouds went away, and the UC Davis Aggies were able to defend Marya Welch Tennis Center from the Bears with a 6-1 win.
The Aggies took all three doubles matches, beginning on court 3 with a 6-1 win over Sandra Keta/Natalie Stanton. Synclair Larson/Sarina Chhabra fell in the No. 2 match 6-2 to give the Aggies the doubles point. Anna Battersby/Raffa Mora were also defeated 6-3 on the No. 1 court.
The Bears did pick up a point from Sarina Chhabra in the singles matches, despite UC Davis picking up the rest of the singles wins. In the No. 5 spot, Chhabra won the first set 6-4 over Jessica Walker, and followed it up with a hard-fought 7-5 win in the second set to wrap up the only point on the day for UNC.
The team will return to Greeley looking to add to the win column when they compete against Colorado Mesa on April 11th at 2:30 PM.
