Joshua Matz earned his second Big Sky Golfer of the Week honor of the season
OGDEN, Utah – Coming off a top 10 finish at the Redhawk Invitational, UNC senior golfer Joshua Matz picked up his second Big Sky Golfer of the Week honor of the year and third of his career, announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The Agoura Hills, California native shot par or better in each round of the tournament leading to a score of 7-under, 206. His best round came on Tuesday when he put a 4-under 67 on the board to help the team extend its streak to 12 tournaments with a top 10 team finish. Over the 54-hole tournament, he collected 14 birdies and also placed 34 pars on his scorecard.
Matz is the 228th ranked Division I men's golfer according to Golf Stat, joining teammate Coby Welch who is 133rd.
The Bears return to competition on Monday, April 8 to compete in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Chandler, Arizona. The tournament then concludes on Tuesday, April 9.
This is a stretch of play in which UNC plays in four tournaments this month, concluding with the Big Sky Championship over April 26-28.
