@UNC_BearsWTen pulls out tight win over Oral Roberts

The Oral Roberts women's tennis team was sent home to Tulsa, Oklahoma with a 4-3 loss handed to them by the Bears Saturday morning.
Northern Colorado women's tennis started the day hot, sweeping the Golden Eagles in doubles. Sarina Chhabra/Sandra keta had a decisive 6-1 victory over Andrea Vasiljevic/Rai Sengupta in the No. 3 spot. Anna Battersby/Raffa Mora in the No. 1 spot and Madeline Doherty/Synclair Larson in No. 2 were able to take 6-4 wins over their opponents to clinch the doubles point for the Bears.
The Golden Eagles made things interesting by splitting the singles matches with UNC. In No. 1 singles, Raffa Mora defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-4. Sandra Keta also earned a two set win over her opponent 6-1, 6-3.
The four other singles duels all went into three sets, the first ending in a win for Gorana Kadijevic over Anna Battersby 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 in the No. 2 spot. Madeline Doherty took the win in the No. 4 spot 7-6, 5-7, 5-3 to clinch the fourth point and the match for the Bears.
Sarina Chhabra in No. 5 and Synclair Larson in No. 6 both fought into the third set of their matches, but were both overcome by their opponent. Rai Sengupta defeated Chhabra 7-6, 4-6, 10-7 and Valentina Gisbert defeated Synclair Larson 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.
Head Coach Chad Stoloff had this to say after the Bears pulled out the close victory,
"Both teams wanted to win so badly and fought to the bitter end. . .hats off to ORU, they fought so tough, we just inched them out at the finish line, that's what we needed to do. . .we are excited to go to southern California and keep getting better and enjoying the journey together. . .big win today, fun college match."
After starting spring break on a high note, the Bears will take a trip to Fullerton, California where they will face Wheaton College on March 12th at 10 a.m.
