It was a tough match for the Bears Wednesday afternoon, as they fell to the University of North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans 7-0.
The Spartans started the day by taking the No. 3 doubles match over Sarina Chhabra/Sandra Keta 6-1 and followed it up with a No. 1 doubles victory over Raffa Mora/Anna Battersby 6-3 to clinch the doubles point.
Despite the doubles point being won, the No. 2 pairing of Madeline Doherty/Synclair Larson fought to earn a tight win over Emily Ory/Brianna Gomez 6-4.
The Bears were swept in singles, with the only three set match of the day coming out of No. 2 singles where Sophia Adams defeated Raffa Mora 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Head Coach Chad Stoloff had this to say after the match,
"We didn't play our best today, credit to North Carolina-Greensboro. . .we will get better from it, it well help us get stronger. . .we look forward to our next match, really need the crowd to come out and cheer us on against Oral Roberts."
The Bears will continue their homestand when they take on another non-conference opponent in Oral Roberts on Saturday at 11:30 AM at Work Out West.
