The Bears ran with the Buffaloes Saturday afternoon at the Boulder Country Club, falling to the University of Colorado 7-0.
The day-long battle began with Doubles, Madeline Doherty and Anna Battersby held a 4-3 lead over Sara Nayar and Megan Forster before the No. 3 and No. 1 matches both ended in losses for the bears 6-1.
Anna Battersby came into her No. 1 Singles match ready to compete with a first set victory over Annabelle Andrinopoulos 6-3. Battersby carried the momentum into the second set going up 2-1 before Andrinopoulos rallied to win the set 6-2, as well as the third set 6-1.
The Bear of the Match Synclair Larson ended the day continuing the fight in No. 6 singles. Larson won a close first set 7-6 and jumped out to a 6-0 lead to take the seven-point tiebreaker. After dropping the second set 6-1, the coaches decided on a 10-point tiebreaker in which Larson would ultimately fall 10-4.
The Bears Head Coach Chad Stoloff saw growth and resilience in his team today.
"We competed really tough, really smart, really hard today. Created a lot of great opportunities for ourselves, and credit to CU, they played well and we will learn from this and grow from this and get better. . . really proud of our teams attitude and effort."
The Bears move to 3-3 on the season and will get their next shot at a winning record when they begin conference play at Eastern Washington on February 23rd.
