Pease's win not enough to lift @UNCO_MensTennis over Montana

The UNC men's tennis team kicked off Big Sky Conference play on Friday against the Griz of the University of Montana with a 5-2 loss.
Naturally, Big Sky play began with a tightly contested competition for the Bears. UNC began the day by earning the doubles point with No. 1 doubles Kyle Pease and Tommy Smalley winning the match 6-4. After Julian Kenzlers and Nick Wade fell in No. 2 doubles 3-6, the Bears clinched the point via a 6-3 win in No. 3 doubles by Adolfo Arroyo and Michael Kritzinger.
The Griz were able to gain momentum in the singles matches, with the only win for the Bears coming in No. 1 singles. Kyle Pease took the first set 6-1 against Alex Canellopoulos, who then forced a third-set tiebreaker that Pease would win 7-6.
The Bears competed hard in their Big Sky opener against the Grizzlies, who were picked to finish second in the conference by league coaches in the Preseason Poll.
The Bears fall to 3-4 on the season and will get their next shot at getting back in the win column at home against CSU-Pueblo on February 16th.
