Davis does it to Sacramento State, again

Not many opposing Big Sky teams or fans like to see Jordan Davis playing against their team, but Sacramento State might be atop that list this season. In the conference opener, Davis scored 11 points over the final two minutes to help the Bears overcome a 10 point Hornet lead. Saturday, he did it to them again. This time the lead wasn't nearly as big, just three points, but the senior scored nine points in the final four and half minutes to help UNC sweep the season series over Sacramento State, 65-59.
A quick glance at the standings and one would think the Bears and Hornets couldn't be more different this season. UNC in second place at 10-3, Sac State in 10th place at 3-8. However, they are close than the eight spots in the standings would appear. The difference, Northern Colorado is 4-1 in games decided by two possessions or less, while Sacramento State is 1-5 and two of those losses have come to UNC.
As for the latest of those heartbreaking Hornet losses. Trailing by three with 4:24 to play, Davis sank a pair of free bees. He followed that up by attacking the rim, splitting two defenders, and converting an and-one opportunity, which gave the Bears a 56-54 lead. Following a missed three-point shot on the ensuing Hornets possession, Davis found himself in the corner and let go a three-ball of his own right over the outstretched arm of 6-foot 7-inch Ethan Esposito and that was all she wrote for the Hornets.
Jonah Radebaugh put the game on ice when former 3A All-State quarterback Bodie Hume hit him in stride streaking down court to beat the Hornets full court press.
