Northern Colorado men's golfer Coby Welch earned his third Big Sky Golfer o the Week honor
OGDEN, Utah – After collecting a pair of Big Sky Player of the Week honors during fall competition, men's golfer Coby Welch picked up his third of the season announced by the conference on Wednesday morning. Welch, had a strong and consistent effort at the John Burns Intercollegiate last week to earn the honor.
He opened the tournament with an even-par 72, before posting back-to-back 2-under par 70s in the final two rounds. His final score of 4-under 212 earned him a tie for 16th in the tournament. Welch, put 11 birdies on his scorecard over the 54-hole tournament.
Behind the strong weekend from Welch, Northern Colorado earned its sixth top 10 finish of the season by taking eighth place.
Northern Colorado is now off until March 15-16 when they travel to Phoenix, Arizona to compete in the Grand Canyon Invitational.
