@UNC_Bears_Golf makes big improvements in second round of GCU Invite

UNC women's golf started its spring season on Saturday at the GCU Invite
PHOENIX – The spring season started for Northern Colorado women's golf on Saturday as they began play in the GCU Invite. The 20-team, 54-hole, two-day event saw its teams complete almost all their open 36 holes on Saturday, before finishing up on Sunday morning. Through the first two rounds, UNC sits in 10th after shooting a 609. The team improved by 15 strokes from the first to the second round with a 312 in the first to a 297 in the second.
Junior Morgan Sahm sits in the top 10 individually entering the final round after firing back to back 73s to be tied for ninth. Sahm placed three birdies on her scorecard during each round.
Both Nicole Polivchak and Beah Cruz saw big improvements from their first to the second round to help the Bears move up the leaderboard. Polivchak cut six strokes off her score with a 73 in her second 18 of the day. Meanwhile, Cruz went from shooting an 81 in the first round to 74 in the second round.
Marisa Hisaki and Aili Bundy round out Northern Colorado's lineup with totals of 156 and 162.

The 20 teams are back on the course concluding the tournament on Sunday. UNC looks to pick up a few strokes to move up the leaderboard as they enter the final round nine back of a top 5 spot. Live results of the final round can be found by clicking here.
