Bears make it rain from beyond the arc.
GREELEY, Colo. – It was 80's disco night inside Bank of Colorado Arena Wednesday night, and UNC men's basketball definitely found the groove. The Bears soared past the Northern New Mexico Eagles 92-47 to grab their 4th win of the season.
The game-plan for the Bears was clear from the beginning, attack from beyond the arc, and they did just that. The Bears were 46.3 percent from beyond the arc, going 19-41 for the game.
Trent Harris had the green light for the evening and paced the Bears in scoring by putting up 24 points in as many minutes. He took all of his shots from beyond the 3-point line, going 7-16.
The Bears also got an efficient performance from Matt Johnson from beyond the three, who went 5-6.
Kai Edwards remained aggressive on the boards as he has all season, leading the Bears with 10.
UNC spread the ball around well, getting nine different Bears in the scoring column and tallying 20 assists. Sam Masten and Tre'Shon Smoots contributed 5 assists a piece.
Defensively, the Bears did not allow any breathing room for the Eagles. Northern New Mexico made just one shot from the 3-point line, going 1-12. The Eagles were held to 28.8 percent from the field for the game.
This was the second-largest margin of victory for UNC men's hoops on the season, second only to the 66-point win over Colorado College.
Stat of the Game
41 3-point attempts is the most on the season for the Bears.
