Cruz, Hisaki in Top 30 After Round One

Beah Cruz and Marisa Hisaki sit in the top 30 at the New Mexico State Aggie Invite
LAS CRUCES, NM – Northern Colorado women's golf teed-off its final event of the fall on Monday competing in the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational. After the first round of play Beah Cruz and Marisa Hisaki lead the team by being in the top 30. Both shot an opening round 77.
As a team, UNC sits in 11th place with a 313 total on Monday, three strokes behind Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UC Irvine.
Hisaki led the Bears with three birdies on her scorecard on Monday shooting a 3-over, 39 on the front nine and then 2-over, 38 on the back. Cruz had a pair of birdies as she flipped scores with Hisaki going 38 on the front, 39 on the back. Cruz and Hisaki are tied for 27th entering round two.
Jenna Chun in the only other Bear inside the top 50 after day one, tied for 41st with a 6-over 78.
DU Ron Moore Invite
Amy Chitkoksoong and Shelby Poynter competed in the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate on Sunday in a one day, 36-hole event hosted by the University of Denver. Chitkoksoong shot a 159 for the even including a 2-over, 74 in the second round. Poynter shot 89, 87 to finish at 176.

Northern Colorado looks to move up the individual and team leaderboard with the shotgun start of round two at 8 am MT. UNC will tee off on holes 7-10. Live results of the round can be found here.
