Bears Honor Seniors, Host Grizzlies on Sunday

Northern Colorado will finish up its regular season at home
Northern Colorado hosts Montana in the final regular season game of 2019 on Sunday. UNC [6-10-3, 4-2-2] looks to try and secure a bye in the Big Sky Tournament with a win over the Grizzlies, who currently lead the conference.
Sunday will also be senior day for the Bears, as Taylor Heil, Taylor Lile, Anika Shelrud, Kylee Duren, Avery Smith and Kenzie Engelkins will be honored before the game.
UNC qualified for the conference tournament after a tie in the Idaho State/Weber State game this past weekend.
The Bears are in third place with 14 points, three points behind Montana. Eastern Washington sits at second with 16 points, while Sacramento State is fourth with 13 points.
UNC was last on the pitch this past Sunday, falling 1-0 to Sacramento State in a windy game. The Bears defeated Portland State last Friday, 3-1, with Taylor Bray scoring a pair of breakaway goals.
Bray has four goals on the season and two assists, totaling 10 points. She is tied for seventh in the conference in goals with teammate, Olivia Seddon.
In the Big Sky, UNC is tied for third with 21 goals, averaging 1.11 per game.
Engelkins has been active in the midfield this season, making 15 starts and playing 869 minutes, with five shots recorded. Smith has also made the most of her senior season, starting in 15 games and playing 1248 minutes, scoring her first career goal against Missouri earlier this year. Duren has appeared in 18 games and played 334 minutes with two shots on goal in 2019. Lile and Heil have each appeared in one game this season.
Northern Colorado will look to secure a first-round bye in the conference tournament with a rematch of the 2018 championship game.
Scouting the Grizzlies
Montana tops the Big Sky with 17 points, a 5-0-2 conference record and a 6-5-5 overall record in 2019. The Grizzles beat Portland State, 4-0, and tied Sacramento State 0-0 last weekend. Junior forward Alexa Coyle leads the conference with 52 shots, 24 going on goal. Coyle has scored three goals and recorded one assist. Redshirt-junior goalkeeper Claire Howard also tops the Big Sky with eight shutouts this year.
