The Bears women's tennis team traveled down to the Air Force Academy on Friday to open their season, falling 7-0 to the Falcons.
The Falcons were able to win all 3 doubles matches, but the Bears gave Air Force a fight in singles. Sarina Chhabra took her opponent to three sets, ultimately falling 6-3, 3-6, 0-6. Synclair Larson also gave Ashleigh Harvey a hard-fought two sets, losing 4-6, 6-7.
Head Coach Chad Stoloff had high praise for his team despite the loss,
"The team fought extremely hard today and were very competitive. Air Force is a tough team and they played well today. Air Force is a team that a lot of teams are going to be challenged by this year. Sarina and Synclair both had stellar performances and extremely close matches. This match is helpful for us, we will learn from it and get ready for Sunday,"
The Bears will now host CSU-Pueblo at 10 AM and Colorado College at 3 PM in their first home matches of the season on Sunday at Work Out West in Greeley.
