Following a 12-day break, Northern Colorado women's basketball returns to the court Thursday night
Northern Colorado women's basketball put down the ball and focused on the books last week for finals, but now it's back to basketball as they host Chattanooga on Thursday night. The Bears game against the Mocs ends a 12-day break for UNC with the 7 pm MST tip-off.
Opening Tip
• Northern Colorado has been off for since December 1, taking on their finals last week.
• UNC won its last game out, defeating SMU in the final seconds 58-57.
• Micayla Isenbart stepped in for an injured Savannah Smith against SMU and scored a career-high 20 points, making five 3-pointers.
• Ali Meyer is now on a five-game streak with double-figure rebounds grabbing 13 vs SMU.
• Chattanooga comes in struggling as of late, currently on a four-game losing streak.

Last Time Out
A layup with four seconds left by Ali Meyer put UNC past SMU in a thrilling 58-57 game. Krystal Leger-Walker set up Meyer with a drive and dish to her as the Bears completed another comeback win. Freshman Micayla Isenbart was a big part of the win starting for Savannah Smith and scoring 20 points including shooting 5-of-7 from behind the arc.
Scouting the Mocs
Chattanooga has been struggling recently coming into Thursday on a four-game losing streak. For the season, the Mocs are 4-6 overall under first-year head coach Katie Burrow.
Offensively, junior guard Lakelyn Bouldin leads the team with 13.2 ppg including averaging 2.1 made 3s. Bouldin is the team's lone scorer in double-figures while six others are averaging 5.5 points or more. The Mocs are averaging just below 60 points a game at 59.3
Defensively, teams have been finding easy ways to score against the Mocs shooting 44.6 percent and scoring 67.5 points per game. Not only are teams shooting well against Chattanooga, but shooting the 3-pointer well making 7.5 a game.
History against Chattanooga
This is the first time the Bears and Mocs have faced each other.
Against the SoCon
Northern Colorado has never faced a SoCon member until Thursday night.

UNC has gone 6-10 when playing on December 13. The Bears success on the date has come at home with a 4-2 record including winning the last time they played on the date in 2016 defeating Colorado Christian.

The Bears enjoyed playing on their home court last season, going 11-3 inside Bank of Colorado Arena. The strong home record included a 10-game win streak on home court. UNC extended its win streak at home to nine games with the win over SMU.
What's Ahead?
Northern Colorado closes out its non-conference schedule before Christmas with a trip to BYU on December 21. The 2018-19 Big Sky season starts at home on December 29 against Sacramento State at 2 pm.
