Winners of three straight, UNC women's basketball looks to make it four straight at Air Force Wedneday
Winners of three straight, Northern Colorado women's basketball looks to avoid having to do so in come back fashion on Wednesday even against Air Force. The Bears, who have won their previous two games with 13 and 15-point comebacks, aim for four straight wins at Air Force with a 5 pm tip-off.
Opening Tip
• For the second straight game, Northern Colorado overcame a double-digit deficit, defeating San Francisco 68-63. The Bears trailed by as much as 15 in the first half.
• Alexis Chapman scored a career-high 19 points in the win including connecting on six 3-pointers. That earned her College Sports Madness Big Sky Player of the Week honors.
• Teammate Savannah Smith also scored 19 points alongside Chapman.
• Ali Meyer was cleaning up the boards with 17 rebounds in the game at San Francisco.
• Air Force comes into Wednesday evenings game an even 3-3. The Falcons most recently played on Saturday, falling to Northeastern 54-41
• Prior to the loss, Air Force had a two-game win streak, including defeating rival Army.
• The Bears and Falcons have one common opponent so far this year in Denver. UNC defeated DU 74-66, Air Force lost to the Pioneers 92-66.
• Wednesday's game closes out Northern Colorado's tour against the other four DI schools in the state. The Bears are 2-1 in the games so far.
Last Time Out
For the second consecutive game, UNC found itself down big early on. The Bears trailed by as much as 15, before coming back and defeating San Francisco 68-63. The Bears were led by the career-high 19 points of Alexis Chapman and 19 from Savannah Smith, along with 17 rebounds from Ali Meyer.
Scouting the Falcons
Air Force comes into Wednesday's game with an even 3-3 record. The team's wins have come against Western State, Fairleigh Dickinson and Army. The Falcons struggle to score at times averaging 67.7 ppg but shooting 39.7 percent.
Kaelin Immel and Briana Autrey lead Air Force with a 13.6 and 11.7 ppg, respectively.
Defensively, the Falcons rely on the ball pressure of Autrey and Emily Conroe who each have 15 steals this year. The team averages 12.5 steals per game and forcing teams into 21.3 turnovers.
History against Air Force
UNC and Air Force are an even 21-21 through 42 games in the series against each other. The Bears, have evened up the series by winning the last eight games in it. Since joining the Division I ranks, Northern Colorado is 8-2 against Air Force.
Against the Mountain West
Northern Colorado has plenty of history against Mountain West schools including CSU, Air Force and Wyoming. The Bears have played 10 of the 11 schools in the conference only missing Fresno State on its list. In the 126 games played against the Mountain West, UNC is 52-75, including a win at CSU this season.

Northern Colorado is 7-6 when playing on November 28, with six of the 13 games coming on a neutral court. UNC is 4-2 in those games played on neutral courts. The Bears are 2-2 when playing on an opponents home court.
Cleaning the Glass
Senior Ali Meyer has become a one women glass cleaning machine. The Monument, Colorado native is averaging 10.2 rebounds per game and is on a streak of three-straight games with double-figure rebounds.
She continues to one-up herself on the boards starting with a double-double against Denver scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Meyer then grabbed another 12 rebounds against Colorado State.
At San Francisco she tied for the third most rebounds in the program's Division I history with 17. Of her 17 rebounds, eight came on the offensive end.
Along with Meyer, frontcourt starting mate Bridget Hintz is helping UNC to its +5.8 rebound margin grabbing 7.4 a game.
Exceptional Growth from Lex
Alexis Chapman continues to show off how high of a ceiling she has. Over three of the past five games she has scored in double figures and the one game she missed it was by a point.
Chapman scored a career-high 19 points at San Francisco, helping jump-start Northern Colorado's 15-point comeback. In the game, she connected on six 3-pointers to tie for the program DI record of 3s in a game.
On the year, Chapman is averaging 11.0 points and 3.0 rebounds.
Comeback Queens
UNC has become the comeback queens as of late. The Bears have tied for the second and fourth best comeback in the team's DI history in back to back games. The Bears first overcame a 13-point deficit at Colorado State, holding the Rams under 10.0 percent shooting in the comeback, while UNC turned the switch on offensively against San Francisco to close out the 15-point comeback.

UNC returns home to open up the month of December by hosting SMU. The Bears and Mustangs are set for a 2 pm tip-off.
