Former @UNCBearsSoccer Star Jordan Selected to US U-23 Team

Chicago, Ill – USA Soccer announced their U-23 Women's tournament team that will compete in three matches in La Manga, Spain February 25-March 7. Former Northern Colorado standout defender, Adrienne Jordan, made the list of the 22 headed to Europe in the coming days.
Of the players selected, 17 of them play professionally, 16 in the NWSL and Jordan who currently plays in Iceland. The five other members are current collegiate athletes.
Jordan, who played for the Bears from 2012-2016, captained the defense for head coach Tim Barrera. Throughout her storied career, Jordan earn two co-defensive player of the year awards and was a member of the 2015 Big Sky Tournament Championship that would go on to Face Arizona in the NCAA Cup.
"We are very excited for Adrienne to be selected to the US U-23 team," Said Barrera. "She will get the chance to compete with and against some the best young players in the world."
Upon graduation, Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Red Stars, making her the first ever player in Northern Colorado and Big Sky Conference history to be drafted in the NWSL.
In June of 2016, Jordan signed with Ostersund, a Swedish 2nd Division team. After a successful fall campaign with Ostersund, Jordan took her talents Vesttmannaeyjar, Iceland and the IBV Football Club.
As part of the US squad, Jordan will see action against Japan (March 2), England (March 4) and Norway (March 7). Following the trip to Spain, the U-23 team will participate in the Thorns Spring Invitational held March 26-April 1 in Portland, Oregon at Providence Park home of the Portland Thorns.
