GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado (7-13, 3-6 Big Sky) looks to shake a five-game losing skid on Saturday, Jan. 28 as they head to Cedar City, Utah to take on the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah. Tip against SUU is on for 4:00 p.m.

Scouting Northern Colorado (Game Notes)
- The Bears dropped their fifth straight game at Northern Arizona on Thursday, 63-50. The 50 points were the lowest UNC has been held to all season.
- Ibrahim Sylla, who remains out due to health issues, has been sorely missed. In the past three games that Sylla has missed, Northern Colorado has been outscored 90-66 in the paint.
- UNC's three-point defense remains stout as they held NAU to just 18% from beyond the arc as they finished 3-of-16. On the year, the Bears rank second in the Big Sky in 3FG defense holding opponents to 34.2% from three-point land.
- Northern Colorado is hoping to avoid its sixth straight loss against SUU, which would tie the longest losing streak in the Division I era. The 2006-07 and the 2012-13 teams both had losing skids of six games.
- Sophomore guard, Jordan Davis has now finished in double figures in 25 straight games. His 11 points at Northern Arizona was the lowest totaled he's produced all season.
Scouting Southern Utah
- Since the T-birds bested the Bears in Greeley, 78-76 on Jan. 5, they've lost their last six games including a 91-89 loss on Thursday against UND.
- SUU currently sports a 2-5 record on its home court with wins over Bethesda (108-92) and Life Pacific (101-56).
- Southern Utah is the fifth-best scoring team in the Big Sky, averaging 78.0 ppg, behind the league's second leading scorer in Randy Onwuasor. Onwuasor is averaging 23.4 points per game on the year, ranking him 7th in the country. The transfer guard has led the team in scoring in 16 of the team's 21 games.
- The Thunderbirds have two other players in double figures on the season in James McGee (14.8 ppg) and Race Parsons (10.0 ppg).
Bears' Last Time Out
- Sophomore guard, Jordan Davis broke Northern Colorado's Division I single-season assist record in Thursday nights, 63-50 loss at Northern Arizona. Davis finished with six assists and now has 109 on the season, besting the previous record of 106.
- UNC was unable to contain NAU's post presence of Ako Kaluna and Jordyn Martin. The duo combined for 33 of the 'Jacks 63 points.
- The second half was where Northern Colorado ran into trouble, as the Lumberjacks limited them to just 21 points on the offensive end. Northern Arizona opened the half on a 14-5 run, putting UNC into a 42-34 deficit, one they were not able to recover from.
- Northern Colorado shot just 28% from both three-point range and the field, and ended the second half 8-of-31 (25%) from the floor and 3-of-16 (18%) from beyond the arc.
- Glotta, Jordan Davis and Jonah Radebaugh all ended the night with double figures for UNC. Glotta paced the team with 12 points, while Radebaugh and Davis recorded 11 apiece.
Shortened Bench
- Last week the Bears went without starting center, Ibrahim Sylla and he is looking to get over some health complications. Before last week, Sylla had started all but one game for UNC. His return to the lineup is still TBA.
- Thursday Northern Colorado still had to scratch Gerad Davis due to illness, however Mike Ranson returned to the lineup against NAU.
- In Sylla's absence, freshman forward, Kai Edwards has been elevated to the starting lineup. UNC also gets solid minutes from fellow freshman forward, Roberto Vercellino.

- Sophomore guard, Jordan Davis added another record to his résumé. Davis currently has 109 assists on the year surpassing the program's Division I single-season record of 106 set by Elliott Lloyd.
- Davis already owns the Division I single-game record for assists with 10 and has moved up to sixth all-time in Division I history in career assists with 175.
- The sophomore also cracked the Top 10 list in Division I career field goals made with 259, ranking him 10th. Davis sits with 389 points on the year and with 10 games to play is on pace to finish with just shy of 600 points, which would be the second-best single-season performance in Division I history behind Devon Beitzel, who scored 687 points in 2010-11.
