Northern Colorado men's tennis head coach Rob Gurden resigned Friday
GREELEY, Colo. – Following one season as the head coach of the Northern Colorado men's tennis team, Rob Gurden announced his resignation on Friday to pursue other career opportunities.
In his one year with the Bears, Gurden helped lead one player to an All-Big Sky selection, and another to the programs first ITA rating since becoming Division I. Austin Mayo was named to the first time All-Big Sky, while Eric Schuermans earned a rating in the ITA Top 125 in February of 2016.
Off the court, a pair of players earned All-Big Sky Academic honors in Schuermans and Jacob Sheldon.
Gurden came to UNC from Northwestern where he was assistant coach for the Wildcats.
A national search for the next men's tennis head coach will begin immediately.
