Get to know Makenna Meier
GREELEY, Colo. – To help bridge the gap between the long summer months and begining of the volleyball season, we will be running a get to know piece on all of this season's players every Friday. Today is the first instalment of the series, beginig with to-be senior defensive specialist Makenna Meier.
Why did you choose to come to UNC?
I chose to come to UNC because the girls are awesome, the coaches are very knowledgeable about the game and care about us not only as volleyball players, and having the mountains close is always a bonus
My favorite volleyball memory is:
My favorite volleyball memory would probably be when we won the Big Sky tournament in 2014 and advanced to the NCAA tournament
Favorite Place to Vacation?
Somewhere with a beach
What do you want to do after you graduate?
After I graduate I want to become a sports dietitian and I would love to work at a university counseling student-athletes
Any pregame rituals/superstitions?
I always put my socks, kneepads, and shoes on from left to right.
I always wear the same headband for every match
Craziest food you ever ate?
I've never really ate anything out of the ordinary
Favorite sports team?
Nebraska – Go Huskers!
Golden State Warriors – I'm obsessed with Stephen Curry
Funniest person on the team?
Natalya hands down
Favorite part of UNC?
My teammates
If I could play any other sport at UNC it would be…
Probably softball
Favorite show to watch growing up?
Basically anything on Disney Channel
If I could spend a day with anyone, it would be?
Stephen Curry
My worst habit is…
Biting my nails
The song no one would believe I have on my iPod:
Probably something by Hannah Montana haha
Favorite food:
Ice Cream
When you go home, where is the first place you go?
A pizza place called Valentino's
Hidden talent:
I don't really have one… :(
