Â
A Look At The Griz
- Montana comes to Greeley after a 62-point performance last Saturday. The Griz bested Idaho State 62-44 behind backup QB, Chad Chalich who threw for seven touchdowns in the win. Montana has scored 60-plus points in three of its last five games behind a heavy pass attack that averages 358 yards per game. The Griz face a "must-win" situation if they are to return to the FCS playoffs.
Â
A Brief History
- Montana leads the all-time series with UNC 13-1, with the only win for the Bears coming in Greeley back in 1976, 27-19. Since 1977 Northern Colorado hasn't defeated Montana, with the Griz owning a 13-game win streak. UNC is currently 1-5 all-time at home against UM. The last time the two teams played came in 2014 in Missoula, which resulted in a 38-13 loss for the Bears.
Â
Mr. Reliable
- Senior wide out, Stephen Miller produced his second 100-yard receiving game in as many weeks last Saturday. Miller hauled in seven catches for 108 yards and one TD. He now has four games of 100+ yards receiving on the season and ranks second in the Big Sky in Yards Per Catch, averaging 18.0.
Â
Senior Combo
- With two games to play, senior QB, Kyle Sloter and senior wide receiver, Stephen Miller currently have 2,157 passing yards and 830 receiving yards. Sloter became the first QB since 2013 to throw over 2,000 yards and Miller is set to have a 1,000 yards receiving on the year. The last time UNC had the combo of a 2,000- yard passer and a 1,000-yard receiver was in 2013 when QB, Seth Lobato and wide out, Dimitri Stimphil did it. Lobato threw for 2,715 yards, while Stimphil was good for 1,002 yards receiving.
Â
A Class Of Their Own
- The class of 2016 has taken the program to new heights and there are numbers to back it up.             Â
A Shootout In Greeley
-Â All signs point to a high scoring affair on Saturday. The Griz have scored 60 points or more in three games this season, while Northern Colorado has scored 50 points or more in three games throughout the year. Both teams rank in the Top 5 in the Big Sky in passing offense, and both team's quarterbacks are in the Top 4 in the league in passing average.
Â
